WHO WE ARE

In Focus Education and Development is a Southampton-based charity that helps young people connect, grow, and thrive through creativity across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.​

WHAT WE DO

With our shared passion and experience in photography and the visual arts, we encourage, teach, and empower people to create positive change that lasts well beyond In Focus. We create safe spaces for everyone to express themselves freely, build confidence, wellbeing and social connection, and develop skills for life and work.

OUR VISION

We want to see a world where everyone feels safe and confident to express themselves creatively — where differences are recognised as strengths, everyone gets the chance to shine, and we raise each other up, together.

WHAT'S ON

SOUTHAMPTON: Group sessions for 16-25yrs

Creative workshops exploring photography, collage, mixed media, writing and more in relaxed weekly sessions for ages 16–25. Free to attend, with no booking or experience needed, and all materials and photography equipment provided. Our Southampton drop-in groups run three times a week. ISLE OF WIGHT: Creative group workshops across the Island

Free photography, collage, mixed media, writing and more for young people on the island. No booking or experience needed, and all cameras, materials and equipment provided. AND THERE IT WAS...Southampton creative writing group

Wish we had something for adults, too? We do! DIY Southampton & In Focus host a free, relaxed creative writing group for ages 16+. Expect word games, playful prompts, unexpected ideas and plenty of laughs. Whether you write all the time, haven’t written since school or are just plain curious, come give it a go. No experience needed, just bring your curiosity!
