Well done to our young people for achieving their Arts Awards and Digital badges!

This week saw all our Arts Awards from the last year moderated by Trinity College London at our new location, Network Eagle Lab. We’re pleased to announce that everyone who came to us passed!

This moderation included 13 Bronze and 11 Explore Arts awards with young people from Skills2Achieve, Compass School, The Polygon School, NHS PEEER project and one to one sessions, all achieving their qualifications.

Along with their Arts Awards young people also recieved a host of our specially created Digital Badges! Which included our ‘Culture Vulture’ Badge, for attending arts events, the ‘Rigorous Researcher’ Badge by looking at the work of artists and researching their work and life for inspiration. The ‘Know It and Show It’ Badge for successfully showing someone how to recreate a technique they have learnt.

The young people we worked with have all learnt how to use a DSLR camera to create images in their own vision and to be able to control and capture any other visual work they have made. Many young people also tried their hand at creative writing in the form of blackout poetry and shape poems. Some groups spent time on mixed media, using their own photographs and a combination of painting and collage. There was also some amazing results from design sessions where young people created their own shoe designs inspired by artists.

We’ve had a fantastic year delivering Arts Awards, inspiring young people to follow careers in creative industries and try out new things. The feedback from the Trinity College Moderator was glowing, and he thoroughly enjoyed looking at the work created by our young people.
