I had the opportunity to take part in a session that works with young people to get them creative and learning different skills, including camera skills! After an introduction of how to use a DSLR camera, the session was to complete a ‘Photography Scavenger Hunt’.
This was to get used to using a DSLR camera and get inspired and creative. We were given 4 prompts to photograph: Time, Sound, Alien and Reflection.
This collection of photos were taken by a young person who attended the session.
It was an interesting experience to explore and see where inspiration struck, it really got you thinking of different perspectives that you could interpret the prompts.
It was really fun to see how other participants interpreted the prompts too, sharing our creative process and celebrating the photographs that had been taken.
The session was really enlightening. Not just creatively, but in general. It got me thinking about my interpretation of the prompts and focusing on the task, being out in nature as well, walking and exploring to get inspired and taking a photograph instinctively.
This session really shows how photography and creativity can help clear your mind, focusing on a creative task, and you can look back at your photos and be proud of what you have made.
I can see how this can benefit people of all ages; it was inspiring and has reignited a passion of photography for me.
This collection of photos below was photographed by the session host, Becki.
